Whether it's a cat that's been surrendered by her owner who can no longer care for her, or a dog that's arrived at ARRI looking for a second chance, the funds you raise will help improve the lives of the pets in our care while they wait for a loving home.
Your contribution will also help fund some of our great programs, such as the Community Pet Food Pantry, which feeds pets of struggling families and provides thousands of pet meals every year, as well as our Bark and Ride program, which transports pets from overcrowded Southern shelters to ARRI, and our ARRI Animal Scholars, which is dedicated to humane education.
Animal Rescue Rhode Island has been bringing best friends and families together since 1938.
What is Bark on the Beach?
It's a one-mile walk along Narragansett Town Beach, from the South Pavilion to the Narrow River and back. Enjoy an invigorating walk along one of the most beautiful beaches in New England, all while raising funds for the dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs at ARRI!
How do I raise funds for ARRI?
You can raise funds individually or as a member of a team.(feel free to start your own team!). Ask friends and family to sponsor you for the walk. Ask your loved ones, co-workers and friends to join your team and fundraise themselves. It's a fun and easy way to raise money for ARRI's pets. To get started, please click the green Register button in the section below.
Can I help as a volunteer?
Absolutely! Volunteers are needed before, during and immediately after the event. We will need help completing tasks before the event, setting up the morning of the event, the event itself and then post-event cleanup. To volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I walk virtually instead?
Of course you can! If you walk virtually, you can still fundraise by asking friends and family to donate to help the pets at ARRI. To get started, please click the green Register button in the section below.
Can I bring my dog to the event?
If your dog is friendly, we encourage you to bring him or her! Please keep in mind that all dogs must be leashed at all times. Please have your dog up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Do I need a dog to participate?
Not at all! No matter the type of fur baby you prefer, please feel free to be a part of our beach walk. Regardless of whether you own a dog, there will be plenty of dogs at the event for you to meet if you need to get your canine fix!
